For the ninth straight year, the city of Loveland’s residential recycling program has been recognized as the best in the state by the State of Recycling and Composting Report published last month.
The residential recycling program achieved a 59% diversion rate last year, which means more than half of the waste generated by Loveland residents was kept out of landfills with recycling and composting, Solid Waste Manager Tyler Bandemer said in an emailed statement.
“Maintaining this level of performance for nine straight years is a testament to the dedication of our residents,” Bandemer said in a press release. “Our community has embraced sustainability — recycling isn’t just a service; it’s part of how we live.”
