Calling on the province to shift the Brantford Municipal Airport property to the city from the County of Brant is an excellent idea, says a Brantford councillor.

“This is the first time I’ve seen something about the airport in the 15 years I’ve spent living here,” Ward 2 Coun. Gino Caputo said at a Tuesday (Dec. 2) committee-of-the-whole meeting. “This makes sense, this is something that talks about growth and expansion and that’s something the residents of Brantford want.”

Caputo said it’s sad the city has to take the issue to the province rather than working something out with the county. No agreement with the county has been reached, he said, and it doesn’t look like one will be reached anytime soon.
