Nearly five years after the franchise's previous attempt to return to the screen, a new Paranormal Activity movie is officially in development.

The Hollywood Reporter has brought word that Paramount Pictures is reteaming with Blumhouse for a new Paranormal Activity movie . In addition to the indie horror studio, who has been with the franchise since its inception, James Wan has come aboard through his Atomic Monster production banner, which merged with Blumhouse in early 2024. Wan wrote about his joining the series in the following statement:
