PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth played just 17 snaps against the Buffalo Bills, including three in garbage time. So, what gives? Why has the former lead player in the team’s tight end room been relegated to second or even third fiddle?

The Penn State product admitted that even he did not fully understand what was going on with his playing time, but he trusts offensive coordinator Arthur Smith to put him in the right position to make plays.

“Obviously it’s frustrating but at the end of the day I have complete faith in Arthur ... Just got to be able to understand my role and hopefully it changes going forward‚” Freiermuth said. “Just got to be able to go out there and do what’s asked of me.”
