Community rallies for longtime volunteer following Thanksgiving Day explosion

OAKLAND, Maine (WABI) - On Thanksgiving Day, an Oakland man survived an explosion inside of his home. That man, Cliff Hannon, has dedicated decades of service to bettering the area.

“Basically when you’d ask everyone to take one step forward, Cliff will take two,” commented Past President and District Officer for the Waterville Sunrise Rotary Club Randall Phair.

Phair and Cliff Hannon have been close for decades as members of the Waterville Sunrise Rotary Club.

The club, in which Hannon is the current president, focuses on making the area a better place, in any way they can.

“Rotary allowed me, allowed Cliff and everyone in our club to give back. You hear that term a lot, what does that mean? Well, that means you are actually getting in to the community,” responded Phair.
