A North Toledo man arrested in connection with the death of a man who had been reported missing has been indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on 10 felonies charges.
Martel Huggins, 33, of the 3100 block of Mulberry Street, was indicted Wednesday on five counts of murder and single counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and gross abuse of a corpse.
Huggins was arrested by Toledo Police, who were investigating the Nov. 22 disappearance of 27-year-old Malicai Calder.
According to court records, when police stopped Huggins in Mr. Calder’s work vehicle on Nov. 25, they found parts of Mr. Calder’s body in the vehicle.
“There were gunshot and stab wounds to the victim’s head,” according to court records.
