The Dallas Stars forward group took a big blow on Wednesday.

Coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters Tyler Seguin suffered an ACL tear and will miss several months.

“He’ll be out for a significant amount of time, probably the rest of the season,” Gulutzan said, before later adding , “It’s a tough day for us today with the news. Other guys now have to step in and play.”

Seguin suffered the injury on Tuesday in the first period of Dallas’ overtime loss to the New York Rangers when he got tangled up with Rangers defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov. The center was in visible pain and needed assistance getting off the ice and down the tunnel.
