OLATHE, Kan. —
A newly released affidavit is providing new details after an 85-year-old woman was seriously injured during a disturbance outside a Whole Foods in Olathe.
Police were called around 12:30 p.m. Sunday to the 14600 block of West 119th Street. Advertisement
The affidavit states that officers arrived to find the woman on the ground with a laceration to her skull and another to the bridge of her nose that exposed her nasal bone.
Witnesses told investigators that a man, later identified by court documents as 50-year-old Christopher Brewer, struck the woman with a hammer.
Brewer is charged in Johnson County District Court with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
