Giants rookie Abdul Carter has been benched twice in the last three games for arriving late to meetings, and former Giants great Carl Banks says the team’s handling of the defensive end’s misconduct is too lenient.
Carter sat out the first quarter of Monday’s loss to the New England Patriots because he missed team meeting. He previously was held out early in the game against the Green Bay Packers because he was he was sleeping during a team walkthrough . Both incidents have raised questions about his focus on football.
During a news conference Tuesday, Giants general manager Joe Schoen attributed Carter’s infractions to the challenges of being a 21-year-old navigating life in New York City. Banks disagreed with that approach during the latest episode of the “Bleav in Giants”
