ONTONAGON COUNTY, MI - If you’re heading north for snowmobiling soon, at least one Upper Peninsula club is welcoming helpers on its blocked trails.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced today that many trails throughout the western U.P. are impassable due to a winter storm that resulted in fallen trees, tree limbs and brush - and a couple feet of snow.
The obstructed trails are in Ontonagon, Iron, Gogebic, Baraga, Houghton and Keweenaw counties.

While some snowmobiling clubs in those areas have announced their trails are closed while members and volunteers clear debris and pack snow, one is taking a different approach.
