A suspect has been arrested in a violent Lexington Park stabbing that sent a 20-year-old man running and bleeding into a firehouse for help last month, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies executed an arrest warrant on Dmontre Montez Bush, 25, of Lexington Park, on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 3, the sheriff’s office announced.
The arrest stems from an investigation that began around 9:35 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, when deputies responded to Spyglass Way for a report of a suspicious incident in Lexington Park.
Minutes later, deputies received a second call — this time from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department — about a walk-in assault victim with stab wounds, officials said.
The victim told deputies he had been meeting with an acquaintance when “multiple suspects confronted, robbed, and assaulted him before he was able to escape, return to his vehicle, and drive to the firehouse for help,” according to the sheriff’s office.
He was flown to a regional hospital, treated, and later released.
Bush was taken into custody in connection with the Nov. 16 stabbing and robbery and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown.
He is being held pending a bail review on charges that include armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and two counts of theft of $100 to under $1,500, according to the release.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division continue to work the case, which remains under investigation.
