LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says it completed one of its "most significant" drug seizures of the year on Wednesday.
In a news release, the sheriff's office said it seized 108 pounds of marijuana and two pounds of suspected heroin laced with fentanyl in a single operation.
"This successful interdiction was driven by strategic detective work and the exceptional detection skills of our K-9 Unit, whose efforts were instrumental in the discovery," a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said.
Officials said the bust was part of an on-going investigation to disrupt a large-scale drug trafficking operation in Jefferson County.
The sheriff's office has not shared where the drugs were seized or information regarding arrests at this time.
