CLARKSVILLE, Ind. — The Clarksville Town Council approved a new contract for its police department Tuesday night, ending a two-year negotiation that left officers working without a raise for most of 2025.

The deal brings base pay up to $66,000 a year for 2025 — an 18 percent increase compared to the $55,800 base pay from 2024, when the last contract expired.

Tyler Jackson, who negotiated on behalf of the 54 Clarksville police officers, said the raise was desperately needed to stay competitive with neighboring departments.

"We were at a $25,000 deficit to Sellersburg, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Floyd County, several agencies," Jackson said.
