Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse University will honor the legacy of Lawrence Moten on January 31 when the Orange plays Notre Dame in the JMA Wireless Dome.
Moten, the program’s all-time leading scorer, died suddenly at age 53 on September 30th. He graduated from SU in 1995 with a 2,334 career points, a record that has endured all these years later.
SU will celebrate Moten and his achievements as a basketball player and as a member of the Syracuse community, where he lived and worked for years before heading home to Washington, D.C. last June to serve as general manager for the boys and girls basketball teams at Digital Pioneers Academy.
His family and friends are expected at SU’s January celebration.
