Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football’s signing day didn’t go exactly according to plan but the Orange’s class still ranked among the best that the program has ever attracted.
That’s with or without four-star wide receiver Calvin Russell, the Orange’s highest-profile recruit who provided the day’s biggest fireworks by delaying his final decision on a college until Friday.
If Russell picks the Orange then Syracuse’s class would rank 29th in the country according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, which would represent the highest-ranked class for SU in more than two decades. It ranks seventh in the ACC, with Miami and Florida State leading the conference.
If Russell doesn’t land in Syracuse, the Orange class would rank 37th in the country, which would still represent the second-best class
