MASON CITY, Iowa – A man who pleaded guilty to stealing thousands of dollars in concrete construction tools has been sentenced.
Derek Anthony Demory, 35 of Mason City, has been ordered to spend five years on supervised probation, participate in the Drug Court Program, and complete all recommended substance abuse and mental health treatment.
Investigators say Demory stole over $10,000 worth of tools from an enclosed cargo trailer at the intersection of North Shore Drive and Sunset View Drive in Clear Lake on July 26. Court documents state the tools, along with five grams of methamphetamine, were found in Demory’s home.
