MINNEAPOLIS (GRAY) – As several sources indicated on Wednesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, was conducting operations in Minneapolis, community leaders and lawmakers spoke out.

The latest comes as the Trump administration continues to pin fraud on Minnesota’s broad Somali community despite pushback from state DFL leaders, including Governor Tim Walz (DFL-Minnesota).

“Sitting on the sidelines and throwing out accusations, and let’s be very clear, demonizing an entire population and lying to people about the safety and security of this state is beneath that,” the governor said on Tuesday.

President Trump, meanwhile, continued to trade blows with the governor.
