GEORGETOWN, Texas — A Georgetown family said they are disappointed after a judge ruled the man accused of killing their 6-year-old son not guilty by reason of insanity.

Daniel Logan had been charged with capital murder and aggravated assault in the 2023 death of 6-year-old Jeremy Tang Diaz. Court documents say Logan attacked his mother with a baseball bat, then forced his way into a neighbor’s home on Rock Mill Loop, where he struck Jeremy with the same bat. Jeremy died several weeks later from his injuries.

At a hearing Wednesday, a Williamson County judge accepted conclusions from multiple mental health experts and found Logan was legally insane at the time of the incident. He will be sent to a mental health facility for additional evaluation, with another hearing to decide where he wi
