MONROE, NC — The spirit of the holidays running high in Union County.

Going above and beyond. Brandon Reeves is on a mission.

He’s been living on the roof of his car dealership located on I-74 in Monroe since Monday. His driving force is to collect 1,017 bikes to donate to kids in need for Christmas.

“I’m just a little used car dealer in Monroe. Nobody knows who I am. And I said, you know what? I’ll bet if I live on the roof of the dealership 24 hours a day with a porta John and a tent, people will probably respond to that and they have,” explained Reeves.

Cold nights and wet days haven’t stopped him.

“It’s cold, it’s tough, but the cause is so great. It drives me. I don’t really care,” Reeves said.

The bikes have been rolling in from around the community.
