KAUAI, Hawaii (Island News) -- The man who shot a Kalaheo man dead in 2023 was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a Circuit Court judge on Wednesday.

Chris Santos was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, for the murder of 28-year-old Kith Silva-Lacro of Kalaheo. Santos was arrested as a result of a 10-day manhunt, after the fatal shooting that took place on Sept. 7, 2023 on Kahili Mountain Road on Kauai.

It was an emotional day for Silva-Lacro's loved ones who have been waiting for justice:
