HAMMOND, La. (WVUE) - Five people were arrested after a monthlong drug investigation in Tangipahoa Parish that uncovered illegal drugs within reach of five children, ages one to 13, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation focused on two mobile homes on Hood Road in Hammond. Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant this week with help from the Hammond Police Department and the Parish County Line Task Force.

Marcellus Washington, 31, was booked with five counts of having drugs in the presence of minors, two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I narcotics, and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule IV narcotics, and possession of counterfeit temporary registration and inspection docume
