FARGO — North Dakota State junior Avery Koenen sees her playing style in redshirt freshman Karrington Asp, making it easier to read each other on the court.

That twin towers telepathy helped spark the Bison on Wednesday night at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex. Koenen and Asp combined for 34 points, 21 rebounds and nine assists in a 90-65 victory against Montana State in NCAA Division I women's basketball before 1,014 fans.

“She is super fun to play with and we’re similar in our style of play," Koenen said of Asp.

The 6-foot-2 Asp finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists off the bench. The 6-foot-3 Koenen added 16 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

“It’s so easy to trust each other," Asp said. "I trust Avery with the ball every time it goes (to her)."
