COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The Texas A&M women’s basketball team beat Georgia Tech 72-63 as part of the ACC-SEC challenge at Reed Arena on Wednesday.

This is the third year the two leagues have participated in this challenge, and Texas A&M (6-1) has won all three years.

Why did the Aggies win? In a game of runs, Texas A&M’s defense tightened up when it mattered most, finishing the third quarter on a 17-6 run to take a 54-46 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Aggies did not trail in the final frame.

The Aggies’ defensive effort was highlighted by an 11-4 edge over the Yellowjackets in steals and a season-high eight blocked shots.

Who stood out? The Aggies had three players log double-doubles, which is the first time that’s happened since 2023.
