EWEB approves rate increases for water, electric service

Eugene Water and Electric Board customers will see increases to their water and electric bills in the new year under the budget approved by EWEB's board Dec. 2.

Starting with February's bills, residential customers will see electric rates increase by 4.4%, and water bills up by 5.1% on average.

On the electric side, bills have been redesigned to have a lower volumetric charge but a higher base charge.
