Could the Yankees reunite with Michael King ?
The Athletic’s Jim Bowden reported a couple of weeks ago that there’s a possibility that the former Padres right-hander, who opted out of his contract to become a free agent in November, returns to the Bronx.
But the Yankees aren’t alone in seeking out their former reliever.
According to Evan Petzold of The Detroit Free-Press , the Tigers have expressed interest in King.
King has also been linked to the Cubs, Blue Jays and Marlins . Though, it’s not as likely that he’ll land in Toronto after the Blue Jays signed right-hander Cody Ponce to a three-year deal.
King was limited to 15 starts this season due to a nerve issue in his throwing shoulder. Over those appearances, he posted a 3.44 ERA, 1.200 WHIP and 76 strikeouts across 73 1/3
