Madisonville police tried to stop a red pickup truck on southbound I-69 on Wednesday afternoon.

The driver wouldn’t stop.

It finally pulled over just past Exit 114.

The driver appeared to have a gun, so a stand-off ensued.

Officers heard a gunshot and stopped traffic.

It was about 2:45 when officers say the driver died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police used a drone to make sure the scene was safe.

No shots were fired at officers.
