Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a partnership with Bad Robot Games, to produce a new first-person shooter from the director of the Left 4 Dead games.

Weird timing as I was literally speaking to one of my friends about the Left 4 Dead series the other day, and how no game since has been able to quite capture the fun and thrill of annihilating wave after wave of enemies with your friends. Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 probably came the closest in my humble opinion.

Anyway, we might be getting the spiritual successor we’ve always dreamed of as Sony and Bad Robot Games will be producing and publishing a new FPS directed by Mike Booth, Left 4 Dead’s creator.
