STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Port Richmond man busted with an illegal firearm while riding in a livery car on Staten Island has since been convicted and sentenced in the case, court records show.
Rashad Porter, 21, of Harrison Avenue, pleaded guilty in June to second-degree attempted criminal possession of a firearm in connection with the April 9 incident.
In exchange for his plea, Porter was sentenced in September in state Supreme Court, St. George, to six months in jail and five years probation.
His attorney, a public defender with the Legal Aid Society, declined to comment.
Pulled over in a livery car
Prosecutors said the incident unfolded at approximately 9:15 p.m. near Targee Street and Vanderbilt Avenue in Clifton.
