CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A person was shot and killed near a park in northwest Charlotte on Thursday morning.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they were called out to around 8:15 a.m. on Dec. 4.
When officers arrived, they found the person with a gunshot wound. The person died before they could be taken to the hospital.
A WBTV crew said the investigation appeared to have been happening at the at Tuckaseegee Park. The property is operated by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation.
It was not immediately clear how old the person killed was, or if anyone had been arrested.
By WBTV’s count, Thursday’s case raised the homicide total to around 80 in Charlotte in 2025.
