In the first high school wrestling competition for a District 51 school this season, Palisade defeated Grand County from Moab, Utah, 63-18 on Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs were aided in the lopsided victory by Grand County forfeiting six weight classes.
Palisade wrestlers winning by pin included Kaleb Baker (138-pounds) in 5 minutes, 18 seconds, Liam Contreras (157) in 2:59 and On the Mat’s No. 3-ranked Eli Bency (165) in 1:53.
No. 2-ranked Teagan Young (132) won by technical fall, 19-4.
In the other contested match Palisade won, Luis Ortega (144) won by a 13-3 major decision.
