A former Beaverton police detective has been accused of abusing his position for personal gain.

A Washington County grand jury indicted Michael Boliek, 35, on Oct. 14 on six charges of official misconduct for allegedly soliciting sexually explicit photos “under the false pretense of official Beaverton Police Department purposes,” using his badge to benefit himself and driving a department-issued vehicle on personal errands, court records show.

Boliek began working for the Beaverton Police Department in 2013 and has been a detective there since 2014, according to his LinkedIn profile. In an affidavit he wrote in 2020, he described himself as a patrol officer.
