As we saw with Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill in S4, Stranger Things has given a well-deserved boost to some older songs. Upside Down by Diana Ross was used in the S5 premiere and as a result, the song received 953,000 official on-demand streams over the first four tracking days of this charting week (November 28 - December 1). When the song was originally released in 1980, it was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Disco and Soul charts.
During the same four day period, Tiffany's 1987 cover of I Think We're Alone Now had a 289% increase from the week before with 1.3 million streams and hit #1 on the Shazam music chart. She was only 15 when she recorded the song, which spent two weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 chart. The music video was filmed during her mall tour.
