A beloved college lacrosse coach has died after he suffered a traumatic brain injury in a fall at his home.
Siena University announced the death of Liam Gleason on Wednesday less than a week after his 41 st birthday.
“A sudden, senseless loss carries a kind of pain that defies understanding,” said Siena President Chuck Seifert, Ph.D. “It’s hard to imagine anyone more universally loved and admired than Liam. Our community was blessed by Coach Gleason’s life.”
Gleason, the Saints’ coach since 2018, earned both ECAC and MAAC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Saints to the program’s fourth MAAC Tournament Championship this season.
