In Van Buren, Arkansas, Tammi Hamby , 59, was arrested on Wednesday (December 3) for allegedly staging the kidnapping of her disabled daughter . Hamby, the wife of a doctor, faces felony charges of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and endangering the welfare of an incompetent person. Authorities claim she orchestrated the fake kidnapping to teach her 22-year-old daughter a lesson after the daughter was groomed online by someone pretending to be country singer Luke Bryan .

According to arrest affidavits cited by KHBS , Hamby enlisted the help of three friends to carry out the plan. The daughter, who is developmentally delayed, was found by Crawford County police deputies on November 17 tied to a tree in a field with zip-tied wrists.
