Snow and possibly record-cold temperatures will close out the week around Pittsburgh after the first significant snowfall of the season blanketed the region Tuesday.
Short periods of light snow will sprinkle the area over the next few days, meteorologists say, as temperatures are expected to hit record lows Friday morning.
Temperatures will likely remain below 40 degrees through Dec. 9 — the first time that’s happened in 20 years, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow showers are expected to continue heading into next week.
