POST FALLS, Idaho -- This time of year, many families put on their holiday outfits and head out to the mall for a picture with Santa, but this weekend, you have the chance to get that annual photo while also giving back to one of our local heroes.

Every year, local photographer Chris Elam hosts a holiday fundraiser, taking pictures with Santa in exchange for a donation to a local cause.

For the last 5 years, the event was held at Cable Creek Farm, owned by Coeur d'Alene Firefighter Dave Tysdal and his family.

Tysdal was shot during the Canfield Mountain ambush in June and is currently recovering from his injuries at a Colorado facility; therefore, the free farm is not up and running this year.
