FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 31-year-old Fort Wayne man was sentenced Thursday morning for shooting at his pregnant wife in April.
Michael Ward was initially charged with attempted murder, criminal recklessness and unlawful carrying of a handgun. Last month, he took a plea agreement that allowed him to plead guilty to criminal recklessness in exchange for the other charges being dismissed.
The plea agreement called for the six-year executed sentence Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull handed down on Thursday. The agreement outlines the possibility of Ward serving time in Community Corrections rather than prison if he is found to be eligible.
Ward’s wife was in an Uber on April 17 when they drove past Ward and he fired three rounds at the car, court records show. The shots broke out the
