Two men who were fatally shot earlier this week in New Orleans East were identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s office Thursday.
The victims — 46-year-old Lorenzo Morgan Sr. and 18-year-old Lorenzo Morgan Jr. — shared a name, according to the Coroner’s Office. The Coroner’s Office did not say whether the two men were related and did not immediately respond to a request for comment, though family members on social media described the men as father and son.
The Coroner’s Office classified both deaths as homicides.
The two men were shot dead in the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway just after 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
As of Thursday, police had not announced an arrest in the case.
