A Pennsylvania Lottery player just hit a $1 million prize in York County, officials announced on Thursday, Dec. 4.

The winning Merry Money Match Scratch-Off was sold at the Rutter’s on 661 Broadway in Hanover, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.

Merry Money Match is a $30 game offering top prizes of $1 million, the release says. Players can learn more about the game on the Lottery’s website or through its official app.

Winners are reminded that Scratch-Off prizes expire one year after the game’s end-sale date posted at palottery.com. Officials urged anyone holding a winning ticket to sign the back immediately and call the Lottery at 1-800-692-7481.

Scratch-Offs are distributed at random, neither retailers nor the Lottery know where winning tickets will land until a prize is claimed, according to the announcement. All prizes over $5,000 are subject to applicable withholding.

The Lottery also noted its participation in the National Council on Problem Gambling’s Gift Responsibly Campaign, which stresses that lottery products should not be given to children during the holiday season.
