The parent company of Facebook and Instagram has amassed a significant chunk of Rosemount land in recent years and has acquired another recent addition.
In the midst of building its $800 million data center, Meta Platforms Inc. recently closed on 14 acres of land north of Dakota County Road 42 along Blaine Avenue East for $5 million in cash, according to records filed with the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
The buyer of the parcels is listed as Jimnist LLC, a company that was previously linked to Meta while the data center was still operating under the code name Project Bigfoot. The sale, dated Oct. 15, does not list a planned use for the vacant land. Meta did not immediately respond to a Pioneer Press request for comment.
