Three in ten Brits plan to celebrate their own version of Christmas Day with friends this year, with almost half of Gen Z planning to do so.
Three out of 10 adults will be toasting to Friendsmas this year – with December 20 being the preferred date. As part of the celebration friends get together to have their own Christmas , typically on a different day and in addition to the customary family get-together on December 25th.
A study involving 2,000 adults revealed that Friendsmas is particularly favoured among Gen Z, with 45% planning to do it this year. What's more, 11% of Gen Z admitted they prefer Friendsmas over their traditional family festivities. For 16% of people, it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy festivities free from family tension.
