Instagram has suffered a major worldwide outage.

Hundreds of reports have flooded in on Downdetector with users saying they can't log in to the social media app.

Others have reported issues with the audio element of the app while some are saying they can't seem to upload posts. 17:37 Ella Kipling

Reports pile in on DownDetector

DownDetector has logged more than 1,000 Instagram outage reports this afternoon.

One person commented: "App keeps crashing on me, even if I clear the cache and restart my phone. Ugh!"

Another wrote: "Instagram Messages aren't working even the background in the Messages are gone I hope they fix it soon."

A third said: "Stories load but the music is unavailable on all stories." 16:57 Ella Kipling
