Sheep farmers who entered their first lambs at a Christmas livestock show are ecstatic after scooping the supreme title.

Tenant farmers Gary Aungier and partner Zoe Norton of Bures on the Suffolk/Essex border were delighted after a pair of their home-bred Dutch Texel lambs beat off stiff competition to take the crown.

Stanfords livestock auction at Colchester held its annual festive showdown - which pits the best butchers' animals against each other - on Tuesday.
