The body of a 31-year-old woman was found Monday morning on the shoulder of Highway 395 a couple of miles from the Washington state line near Umatilla, Ore., according to the Oregon State Police.
Breann Hailey Mayberry of Umatilla was found about 6 a.m. along the northbound shoulder of the highway east of Umatilla, near milepost 2.
Evidence found near her body indicated she’d been struck by a white semitruck, but it had not stopped, according to state police.
Investigators were still at the crash scene when they saw a damaged white Freightliner semi and trailer being towed down the highway.
The damage was consistent with evidence at the accident site, and the Freightliner was seized, according to state police.
