PITTSBURGH —
The Pittsburgh Riverhounds are USL champions for the first time, and faithful fans of the soccer club heated up Grant Street with a warm championship celebration Thursday.
Fans chanted, multiple dignitaries addressed the crowd, and fans had the opportunity to take pictures with the championship trophy at the victory rally outside the City-County Building downtown. Advertisement
The atmosphere resembled what it's like to attend a Riverhounds match.
"It's actually amazing. I always compare it to being at a Steelers game -- the fans, the energy. It's all about Pittsburgh," Riverhounds fan Kristen Coradi Cellante said.
This is the first championship title in the team's 26-year history.
"I think it's their grit, determination, never-give-up attitude, and always defense first
