A controversial residential development that would have created 32 bedrooms in two buildings on the site of a single-family home has been scrapped, Ward 5 Coun. Jerry Pribil said.
A developer had received approval from city hall to build two apartments, each with 16 bedrooms, at 545-547 Elmdale Ave., sparking outrage in the Stoneybrook neighbourhood in north London – a community dominated by large, single-family homes.

But developer Lukas Janic has sold the site, and the new owner won’t proceed with construction of the two apartment buildings, each containing four four-bedroom units, said Pribil, who represents the area.
“This is a happy story; it is a win for all,” Pribil said.
