LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A suspicious article in southwest Lincoln prompted an emergency response Thursday.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue was called out to the suspicious article on the railroad tracks near 14th Street and Nebraska Parkway before 2 p.m.
LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said the hazardous device technicians took a while to arrive on scene.
It’s unclear what the item is, but LFR believes it may have fallen off a truck.
Railroad and vehicle traffic was being halted at the intersection, but units cleared out around 3 p.m.
Southbound 13th Street traffic to 14th Street traffic was rerouted to eastbound Nebraska Parkway. Northbound 14th Street was also reduced to one lane.
