OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The fire that destroyed an Omaha home this morning is still under investigation.
Nobody got hurt because the family renovating the house hasn’t moved in yet. But there’s a moving moment in this story of resilience.
The flames that lit the morning sky had been doused by late afternoon when Conner Lukowski came to see what remains of her family’s dream home.
“We were just so close to moving in. This is my first time seeing it so,” Lukowski said.
Renovations nearly complete for Christmas
The Lukowskis bought the house in September and had been working with contractors to complete renovations in time for the family’s first Christmas in their forever home.
The unfinished project now seems like a blessing.
