Washington ― Michigan lawmakers have questions for the Pentagon, with two Democrats pushing for the removal of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in the wake of revelations about the killing of boat strike survivors back in September.
U.S. Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a Holly Democrat who sits on the Senate Armed Services panel, said this week that Hegseth should resign or be fired if the reporting on the boat strike is accurate, while Detroit Rep. Shri Thanedar on Thursday introduced articles of impeachment against Hegseth in the House ― a measure unlikely to advance under the Republican-controlled Congress.
