Police are investigating after an educator died Wednesday night at an Ionia school.
Ionia Public Schools Superintendent Ben Gurk confirmed the death in an email message sent to parents Thursday morning and shared by police on social media. Officials have not provided identifying information about the educator, including the name, age or if it was a man or woman.
The letter also did not specify where the educator was found or how they are believed to have died. Gruk said Ionia High School, Welch High School and the Bulldog Beginnings Preschool were closed Thursday "in support of our school family." Each of those schools is located at 250 E. Tuttle Road in Ionia.
